busy bee playing with wee

back blip

yesterday was a busy day - firstly trying to get rid of the children (they had to tidy their rooms and pack before they were allowed to go off on adventure weekend) - then taking them up to farm and hanging out there a bit, politely, as one does. Then an extraordinarily fast and cheap shopping trip (no one to nag and whinge about various products one doesn't want). Home to do Stuff in garden and house...and then out to bro in law's stopping at takeaway on the way....and then we played with wee.

They watched some football but I read the paper during that bit, only looking up to briefly see that our boys had beat Denmark. Always a good moment in life (Mr. Spitzi and my first ever mutual friend is Danish and we always like to beat him in everything possible).

And, well, wee...or wii (of course)...I was dreading it, I have to admit. I'm one of those people who has absolutely no skill or interest when it comes to games on computers. Mr. Spitzi and his brother love things like that and sis in law likes any games. I hate games, I prefer to read a book. So, I was a bit grumpy about it all, I admitted my incompetence early on and my sisinlaw guided me through it all as if I was a retarded two year old, which meant I almost kept up...mariokart had me hooting with laughter, literally rolling on the floor (it improved my steering). Broinlaw claims to never have seen someone so crap at it (is that a win?). Anyway....I came into my own when it got to sword fighting as I soon realised that hacking at my opponents knees made them fall over (ha!) and frisbee, which I'm good at in real life too. And then we played golf - which got me in the mood for playing proper golf - although us ladies didn't win (due to a totally fluke good hit by Mr. Spitzimixi) I was pleased to see that my hits actually went where I wanted them to. The upshot of the evening was that four adults went very late to bed after an evening of behaving like small children :-)

And this blip is one of the only set of pictures I took yesterday - some bee things that I am playing messenger with as they need to get from the farm where the children are to my work colleague. I'm very tempted to keep bees myself....just think of all that (nearly) free honey!!!
