Abernethy Forest

This is the edge of the forest - a typical mix of bog and heather and a few small trees. Mountain biked over from Rothiemurchus where we were staying to Abernethy forest via Ryvoan pass. The plan was to look for capercaillies in the forest. We saw what might have been a female but it might also have been a female black grouse so it remains unticked on our bird list.
