Better safe than sorry?

I was a bit surprised to see this sign on the landing of the office in Gateshead today - but there's an open day tomorrow and I guess a small toddler slipping to its death down the space between the landing flooring and the plate glass window wouldn't look good in the local press.

Now back to that telescope in Mallorca.
