In Between Days

Walked home through town from the bus station. Here are the stalls all set up for the Saturday Market. Market day in Pontefract is Wednesday and Saturday and the ones here are outside M&S. I'm glad we have an M&S. We also have a Boots and a WH Smiths. Unfortunately the rest of the shops tend to be bargain type shops and mobile phone shops. When we lost our Woolworths we got B & M Bargains in its place and this has been the trend over the years. We do have two Gregs opposite each other and three Santanders though, so we are lucky in that respect.

It's Friday and the kids have been to golf practice which has been organised by Grandad who is an avid golfer. Apparently Alana is quite good. I never suited golf. I remember my first attempt when I was at university on the local municipal course. With a group of onlookers at the first tee, I thought I'd hit the ball but on closer inspection it was the end of my hired club which flew through the air and the ball remained where it was, undisturbed. Talk about embarrassing. Things never really improved.
