Window on the world

In Schull today for a business lunch with my partner in crime, Lisa. Schull is a very jaunty and bohemian little village right on the water's edge. It has a host of interesting shops - a good book shop, crafts shop, French chocolatiere, very nice but expensive jeweller, a planetarium (!!), sailing school, language school and some very good pubs.  It's a bit of a one horse town in the winter but during July and August it is heaving as yachting types blow in for a bit of action, and the holiday homes fill up. Today it was full of noisy youths lounging around in groups on the grass or leaping off the quay into the sea - school's out, just the poor leaving cert kids are still pouring over exams.
The first reprints of our cards were promised two weeks ago and have not yet arrived - I fear I have to be fierce on Monday. We are also waiting for proofs for another 24 images so it's all very frustrating. Their prices are good though as is the quality, their customer service and punctuality is just a bit dozy.

This little window has caught my eye several times - I just love it. The house is a bit faded and jaded but I love the jaunty seagull and mishmash of other things crowding the window. Nothing is straight - honest!!


Gorgeous bright and breezy weather, everyone in a good mood - it's Klaus's birthday today so we might go down to the Tin Pub for a 'schoop' later. Have a good weekend everyone.
