When a chance presents itself
what should one do? I didn't have my 'proper' camera with me and in the entrance hall of a clients home I spot this bad boy. What should I do? Persist with my picture of my smoking bench at work, or see what I can possibly do in the three second interval I could pull my camera out and take a photo without the client thinking I was casing the joint?
You guessed it. Obviously.
Thing is chances and opportunities don't come around often, and spotting them can be as much of a challenge as actually taking them. After an event or a chance meeting the window is often closed and you are left to look back on 'what I should have done'.
I know what you're thinking: It looks like another one of theose miserable self reflecting blips he churns out every so often. Nope. That ends now.
So I have finalised my 'challenge' for next week should anyone want to take me up on it. My challenge starts Sunday with an introduction to my newly formed political party. Then the photo challenge starts, and please feel free to play along at home.
Monday I shall be dealing with Healthcare so invite shots on that theme.
Tuesday I shall be hitting Crime and Punishment
Wednesday I'll be dealing with The British Nationality and Pride
Thursday I'll cover Education
Friday I'll end with The Economy.
So there you have it. Five days. Five themes. If just one person decides to take up the challenge then I'll be chuffed.
This weekend will be interesting. The lodger is away so the house is all mine: usually the time I reach for the red button and get really f*cked up on my own. This weekend I shall take steps to ensure this doesn't happen.
I'm not sure what they are yet but I suspect they'll have to involve other people being at my house.I've got a couple of couples coming over Saturday for a BBQ: that won't be depressing as I love being the odd one out in five.
Sunday I shall be working on my blip projects words, meaning I'll only have to bother about the photo on the day. It's quite exciting actually setting a challenge even if it is only for myself. I've done a couple of series in the past but this is going to require some creative thinking. That means you'll probably get a photo of a hospital, one of a jail, one of a fiver, a union jack and one of a school. I'll make sure I don't take the school one while there are kids in the playground.
Today I.... have ben introduced to Frank Turner ;)
So here is my musical gem to keep y'all awake on this inevitably drawn out final day of the week. This song summed up my seven year relationship with Kelly (of Belly and Ken fame). It might sound harsh but the guy sung my thoughts (like bernard often writes them). I saw them at V99 and think they only did one album. However if you like this check out the alternative love song they released called 'Dog'.
