antiquated...

...like the roses on those old-fashioned cards my grandmother used to send me when i was a kid...

i always wondered why she didn't send me ones with kittens and doggies on the front. now i look back and admire those cards because of the care she used in picking them out for me... the beauty they carried... cards today are not the same at all. they tend to be more throw away - not ones you will tuck away to treasure and savor... well, you may because of whom they came from and what they wrote on the inside, but not necessarily because of what the outside appearance is like, do you remember?

memories are good things - especially when it comes to grandmothers...
