Textures

Summer has settled in. Temps are due to creep into the high 90s as of tomorrow.

For those who've not experienced a Washingtonian summer, imagine what your bathroom feels like just after you've finished a hot shower: the air is steamy, thick and warm; your skin probably feels clammy. Nightime brings no relief. And then, there are the bugs. I guess that's the problem when you build a city on top of marshlands... fun, fun.

I always feel bad for tourists who choose that season to visit: they traipse by red-faced, hair plastered to their head, looking as though they bear the weight of the world on their shoulders.

The best place to be is in water, which is where this pic was taken.
