In The Night Garden

It's nice to plant at night.

The place smells different, and you get a feeling of solitude, even when the cat is peeing 4ft away. Hmmm...maybe that's the smell.

I love the promise of these white polystyrene containers with their brilliant display cards. maybe they will get eaten by slugs or ripped up by kids or mowed by the half blind strimmer man (me). I have lost my faith in many things: the ability to save money, stopping after one glass, discovering crisps give you a six pack.

But tonight, on my knees on a damp lawn, a man can dream can't he?

Here's something else that is lovely to do at night.Careful now.
