The Millenium Bridge
We had a super fantastic day today. We met up with the marvellous shedmonkey and drove down to London to see a couple of exhibitions at the Tate Modern and the Hayward Gallery. The Juan Munoz exhibition at the Tate was full of delights and surprises - and I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. As always, the view from the gallery over the Thames was competing with the exhibition, but the exhibition won in the end.
We took La Shedster to my favourite restaurant for lunch - a cafe down the road that does roast dinners and veg and gravy. We had an in-depth discussion about whether beans and chips counted as two portions of veg, and I found myself out-voted.
The Rodchenko exhibition was totally sublime. This was only the secondever photography exhibition I've been to (Testino was the other one) and I could not get over the fantastic quality of the prints - there is no book that could do these justice - and as for a lesson in composition... bloody fantastic.
The exhibition was fairly quiet, except that occasionally me, shedmonkey and flick could be heard uttering "cracking blip".
We drove slowly home, and realised that we had all been talking non-stop for 12 hours. It was wonderful to meet shedmonkey and I have to say we were quite disappointed when we had to part.
We shall be meeting again soon.
