Geese on the wing

Another cold day, with heavy rainy sleety showers and snow forecast for the next few days! Oh joy! Made a cake and some bread to keep the kitchen warm, and have lit the fire so the house is all snug and cosy.

The geese have moved into the field round the house, and are making a real mess of it. The new fresh grass is just starting to grow and they are pulling it up, roots and all. Everytime Ollie and I go out they fly away, circle, wait for us to go away and come down again. The field is getting increasingly muddy and is covered in a slimy layer of goose droppings - just the place for exercising a long haired dog!
