David Grisman
What a great show he put on this evening.
The weekend is all about my niece, Shona, who is graduating from high school. It's a Catholic high school. Her father is Catholic. Shona and her Jewish mother and aunt went to the mass to celebrate the graduating seniors. We stood up when everyone else did and sat back down when everyone else did. Tonight, the Jewish Youth for Community Action group that they are a part of put on a "gala" fundraiser featuring David and Tracy Grisman. It was an "in the tribe" kind of an evening. A zillion Jewish mothers brought food. There were more bread products than should be legal in one place at one time and lots of hummus. I'm not sure where the, "Eat your vegetables" faction were. No, there were a few veggies. And fruit too - chocolate covered strawberries.
Anyway, the show was great. And I had fun making lots of photographs of food and milling/eating people as well as of the performers themselves.
Graduation tomorrow. And a cake with a marzipan elephant wearing a marzipan mortar board while standing in marzipan green grass. I can't wait to see that. It might make a nice blip as well.
