Yesterday we planned to go on a sunrise boat trip on the Ganges, so we got up at 5am and went downstairs to wait for a boat man...and at 6am he still wasn't there so we went back to bed! Apparently we were meant to wake up the owner of the hostel, so now we know for next time. Saturday was a lazy day, we spent a while on the internet booking trains for Jaipur, Udaipur and not Jodhpur (bus?), as well as trying to find places to stay that would be open at 12am when we arrive in Jaipur! The rest of the day we spent wandering the streets, eating samosas from street stalls and going to a temple in the university. The campus is huge and well laid out, and we wouldn't mind coming here for a year of uni! Dinner was at a small restaurant (we tried one place, but the owners were arguing so much that everyone else left and we followed suit) watching Indian tv...very entertaining! After this we went to see the evening prayers at main ghat - hundreds of pilgrims praying to Mother Ganga, with drums and bells and singing. It was great to watch! There were lots of children trying to sell us things too, the darker side of India.

39 degrees.
