Hanging around
Long day today, after work I was up at Napier for the private view of their show. Two of the students from the first full New Media HND I taught on were graduating with an honours degree in Design and Digital Art. IT was the culmination of four years of hard work and the end results were great, really proud of how they have developed.
The photo exhibition was on too and when I walked in the first photos I saw were amazing. It struck me that there were far and away the best photos that I had seen at a graduate show and that the standard must be really high. When I looked closer I was even more amazed that a student had managed to get Brian Cox, John Byrne and Albert Watson to sit for them. Then the penny started to drop and I became a wee bit suspicious, I looked around for a name card to discover the shots were by David Eustace. That explained a wee bit. In fairness he did graduate from Napier but it was 20 years ago now.
It was a good night though with lots of great work on show and it was great to catch up with my former students. Hopefully they have long and successful careers ahead of them.
Todays shot was nothing to do with Napier though, spotted this shot in college and had to ask if I could get a photo.
