The Big Picture

Thanks for all your comments and interest in the last two blips , both macro images. So thopught it was time for a big picture.

A dry , windy but warm day today so oscar and I had a walk up Duneaccain Hill, our first in over a week beacause of the awful weather. Not today though , sunlight all the way with amazing cloud formations. The gales have taken their toll though and many trees were down . i reckon I counted about 8 or nine trees blocking the road up the hill . Just as well the people who live up there are away just now or they would have been stranded. Oscar of course was undaunted by the natural barrier and sped under the tree trunks, onwards and upwards. Me , well I just had to clamber over the trunks as best I could. It was so good to be up there breathing in the fresh air and woodland smells but needs must, so we had to make our way back down where we met the foresters cutting back the fallen trees. They made it look so easy cutting the trunks into manageable sizes to roll off the road. Got a few shots of them at work. Then almost off the hill and BT Open reach worker was at the topo of a pole rewiring a phone line, so a few more shots ( that's our club's september competition " Earning a Living" sorted. )

Back home and the washing in the machine was ready so got that pegged out and blowing in the wind. Almost blipped that to show our dry weaher , didn't !

So tonight a shot of our big sky as I had gone to the bother of getting out my favourite Sigma 10 - 20 wide angles lens. Just love the effect this has on the sky. I also used a graduated filter as well to bring out detail in the clouds or they would have been over exposed.

Not sure what tomorrow will bring later in the day. We have the funeral of a very precious old neighbour in the morning and the the day is our own.

Hope you all enjoyed today as much as I did.
