Quaker bonnet

Today's the day ........................ to accession

Spent a lovely afternoon at work doing one of my most favourite things - accessioning artefacts - or in other words, cataloguing items that we have been given and entering them in to our collection.

So this is Quaker bonnet no QTKS2011.13 dating from about the 1880s and owned by one Eileen O'Brien. We have a photograph of her wearing it too which is an added bonus.

It's a very special thing to be alone with a collection of artefacts from a bygone age - to be able to touch them and to imagine what it would have been like to be around when they came into existence ........................
