It's Summer!

Yes, the sun came out today, big bursts of it, only sometimes muted by the fog. Wonderful calm morning - I got up before dawn while it was still foggy and went down to the marsh, hoping to find misty trees and bejewelled spider webs (there were a few). Lots of birds - redwings, mockingbirds, house finches, warblers, goldfinches, woodpeckers, egrets... and a few that I couldn't identify.

In the afternoon I went to work for a few hours, taking a cut across the Public Garden to see what was happening. It was packed! After all our crappy weather over the last week it seemed like everybody (and I mean EVERYBODY) had to be outside. The park was a zoo. So this shot, of a couple of kids playing quietly by the lake is deceptive - a little pocket of calm among the multitudinous throngs.
