pina coladas and getting caught in the rain

that pretty much sums up my vacation at this point.

except for the fact that i haven't gotten a drink with alcohol in it since i got here.
and yes, i've asked for plenty. they keep bringing me virgin pina coladas.
seriously. this is mexico! i keep sending my non-alcoholic drinks back and asking for new ones because they think i'm 14. 14! what in the world is going on??
i'm even wearing a wristband that is supposed to prove to the powers that be that i am, in fact, of age to drink.

what, praytell, does an actual 25-year-old look like these days?
(p.s. don't tell me "you'll appreciate this in ten years". i'm more of a live-in-the-moment kind of person and i DON'T think it's an insult NOT to get carded. and i hear that EVERY day now. maybe that's why i stopped drinking in public.....)
i understand that i have a "baby face".. i use an excellent eye cream because i don't want wrinkles. i don't stay out in the sun. i'm quite happy that i don't look like i'm 35 already, but come on. i'd like to look like i'm in my twenties.

i got to the point tonight where i decided i would ask for a drink without a non-alcoholic substitute. so i ordered a glass of wine. the waiter (didier) was funny about it though. he kept asking me if i wanted a refill of my grape juice and maybe a glass of warm milk instead of a shot of tequila. (is it wrong if i actually did, though?)

and yes, it did rain for the majority of the afternoon. i just can't seem to get away from the rain everywhere i go. i don't mind though since i just want to relax and the wind feels good.

i'm quite happy to be in mexico.. (with alcohol or without.)
