The old shed revisited
This morning we went to a photo studio to have some new family portraits taken. The last time we did this was in 2009. Back then, I didn't know anything about photography really. This time, besides enjoying the event, I also carefully looked at the equipment and software they are using. Even if I had their equipment and software, I'm pretty sure I lack the other skills needed to get the results they are getting. The relaxed way they are dealing with our children ensured we got some great pictures. Now we have to wait somewhat for them to frame the selected pictures. If all goes well, we'll receive some lower resolution images in the email on Monday.
The skies today were absolutely fantastic. Big white clouds and strong blues. By the time I got to the location of this blip, it was more gray and I decided to use the Big Stopper filter to get this effect in the sky. This shot is a retake of this one. I think this worked out really well; I'm very pleased with both the shot and the processing*. Definitely better bigger!
Something I'm not so pleased about is the fact that I appear to have quite a bit of sensor dust again. I'll test tomorrow; I may need to have the sensor cleaned again...
* The processing did not involve painting the sky. The effect of motion in the sky is because of the long exposure. The long exposure was possible thanks to the Big Stopper.
Edit: I just found out (about one hour after posting this) that I was on the same location exactly one year ago. That's freaky...
