Health education for the carers

Every Tuesday we hold a health education session for the families and carers of the patients who are in the hospital. Many of the patients come from rural ares and and have never had teaching about clean water, healthy eating, hygiene ,safe prenancy, treatment of illness and when to go to the hospital. They are often afraid of going to the hospital and fear they may be unable to pay the bill. The sessions are led by Madam Dara , a senior member of the hospital staff and we invite other speakers from the hospital to contribute including the man from the equity fund office . The equity fund is a USA funded initiative that pays the bills for the poorest people.Questions are invited .If these cannot be answered by the staff who are present they are taken back to the Director who does what he can to sort out the problem. The sessions are popular and as well as providing education which hopefully helps to improve the health of the people I feel that they provide the start of patient feedback which if managed correctly will also help to improve the services in this country
