swimming

Chris and I took Amelie swimming today. She had a new swimming costume to wear. This is her and I before we went in, she was rather grumpy as she just wanted to run out of the changing rooms and obviously, I wouldn't let her. I'd love to take my camera and get some proper swimming pictures but I am always a bit wary of doing that, might ask at the desk next time because the pool was virtually empty. We took her into the big pool and Chris sawm lengths whilst Amelie and I played around. She enjoyed holding onto the edge and pulling herself up. I noticed she was shivering at bit (it was so cold!) so took her into the baby pool where some school swimming lessons were going on. It was much warmer and she could stand up in there but it obviously wasn't that much fun and she kicked off, throwing herself backwards and nearly ending up right under. Think we may need to invest in some armbands or something so she can do a bit more next time. She has been exhausted all afternoon and didn't eat much dinner as she was just rubbing her eyes and crying. She still refused to come out of the bath though and is still awake and watching Waybuloo. Hopefully we've tired her out and she will sleep well tonight.

In other news we booked her first ever flight today... Chris and I have a wedding to go to in July and Amelie and I will be flying up the Sunday before (flying solo with a 15 month old, am I mad?!) and Chris will be joining us on the Thursday and we will all fly back together on the Sunday afterwards. Excited and nervous!
