Euphorbia fireglow
Spent this morning in the "wash-up" meeting for the walking festival - lots of thank you letters to be written, money to be paid out, walks to be appraised. We had a wonderful 9 days, helped by the weather, but we did allow ourselves a pat on the back for a job well done. There are always lessons to be learnt for the next festival but overall we think we have a good winning formula, and we are in the black!
Back at home it was time to enjoy some of the flowers in my garden (recently rather neglected by me, but very forgiving and much appreciated). Here is euphorbia fireglow (Euphorbia griffithii), a good doer which tolerates growing in the shade of our north facing wall. I photographed this in the fading light - and it was very windy - so hand held with the 100mm macro lens. I love the intensity of the colours.
Hope to have a few quiet days this week.
