Where there's smoke...

The fire is 70 miles away in Torridon, on the Scottish mainland. A pall of smoke shrouded Lewis in a fog, with visibility down to below 1 mile at lunchtime. It faintly smelled like smoke (acres of moorland burned in Wester Ross). The haze disappeared within 4 hours.
