Vegapalooza Day 1
Vegapalooza Day 1:
Meet our limo driver. I know, 'Limo' sounds so fancy and it is and it was but when traveling with a group (and wanting to make a stop along the way), it actually worked out to be a pretty affordable way of travel. And we had the coolest driver. He took us to a bar that sells cocktail supplies. We figured, we could buy a few mixed drink concoctions there to avoid the $17 dollar drink once we hit the casinos. So I asked our driver if I could take his picture. He laughed and was also surprised at the same time. "Me??" he said. And we said, "Well yeah, you are the best limo driver that we have had all day!". He laughed at that. When I showed him the picture, he liked it but then said, "Oh that Roman nose of mine. I got it from my Father". Of course we proceeded to tell him that his Roman nose was a very good nose. Another laugh from him.
When we got to the Hotel it was like, READY...SET...GO!!! Kids in a candy store. Or in our case, adults without any responsibilities. We went to a fancy little bar filled with crystals and glass and leather and then proceeded to tell our bar tender that he was the BEST bar tender that we had had all day. He liked that. And he used a higher end liquor in our margarita which we thought was SO COOL but now come to think of it, guaranteed we were charged for that. Oh well. It was fun.
Our rooms were gorgeous. I couldn't believe we had such a luxury place for under 100 bucks a night. It was crazy insane nice. Two bathrooms, a living room and bedroom. And big fluffy cozy white towels! We quickly unpacked, chilled for a bit, and then met our friends. Time to go check this place out. Basically an entire city indoors. Slots ringing, people wandering everywhere. The smell of a casino. I do like that smell.
We found a nice dinner but the margi's took center stage. Pretty soon we were friending it up with the Canadians at the next table. Nice group of people. And then we were off to continue exploring. We all ended up back in our rooms at about 10:30pm that night but let's just say, at the pace we were going and WENT, that ended up being a good thing. We made more friends than I can count. At one point, I promised an engaged couple that I would take 'engagement photos' for them. Oh my. They must have thought I was nuts. But by the look on their faces from the photo I took, they enjoyed the attention. And hey, at least we are happy go lucky peeps when a wee bit tispy.
Night 1. Quite a night........ :)
