GIT (Goslings In Training)

Most people don't know it, but, every year at the end of September, or the first week in October...both ducks and geese hold a series of competitions. To them, it is much like a mini-olympics without the medals.

These three are in land training for their spot in Synchronized Swimming. They try to get their moves down on land before moving it to the water.

The Synchro team consists of three swimmers. They are judged according to how well they move together, creativity, and how well they can HONKKKKK.

The bookends of this team look to be crazy-good. They need to work on their smiles just a bit, but their little beaks are raised up just right, and the tilt of their heads is stuuuuuupendous!! THAT'S WHAT SYNCHRO IS ALL ABOUT!!!

But, that monkey in the middle is not going to cut the mustard. I don't know if it's a lack of concentration, or that he (I just know it's a he) just does'nt care. Perhaps he is not athletically inclined. Perhaps he just had an itch. He will probably have to be replaced by a brother or sister for this team to get the gold.

Full day at the river. Saw the first ducklings of the year. A mom with 11 babies, but she would'nt bring them near to me to pose. Maybe, just maybe, they were in training, too. You can never start them too young.
