Thursday: AV Explained

So I have been to do my civic duty and have cast my vote against AV.  Well, I think my civic duty probably extends to going to vote, not which way I voted.

One of my colleagues was undecided yesterday on how to vote.  I was eating a piece of cake when she announced this (before eating four pieces of Rocky Road Marshmallow Crunch and feeling sick, but that is another story), and my other colleague, Penfold, was eating a Muller Rice Yoghurt.  In order to help my undecided colleague decide, we explained that I wanted to have a piece of cake.  Penfold wanted yoghurt.  If more people than me wanted yoghurt, I could sort of accept that as that was the popular choice and I would just have to eat yoghurt.  What would not be acceptable, though, would be if we both ended up with sardines.  No, that would be bad.  I tell you, I should have had a career as a political analyst!

We got rather over-excited in this analogy and before we knew it, the office was covered in cake crumbs and dollops of yoghurt.  Ho hum......but I am sure we helped clarify matters.
