Breaking Ground

Our first day working in the community gardens. The three of us spent the afternoon out at our plot working the soil, forming it into raised rows, and planting seeds. My daughter and I both took off our gardening gloves after a while. As she noted, "I don't mind putting my hands in the dirt. I like the feel of it."

Red onions are in the ground, and I'm already anticipating one of my favorite summer dishes.
