Yet another field of oilseed rape in bloom? Well yes, but this time it's not controversial, unlike the crop grown here a few years back. The field is close to Munlochy on the Black Isle, and back in 2003 the crop was one of very few GM trials that were going on. Needless to say, the associated farmer, wasn't very popular (understatement) locally, or nationally. An anti-GM vigil/camp was set up, by that tree, and there was the odd bit of civil disobedience too.
Since then, I always wonder about those odd escaped, or missed, seeds that germinate and grow up along the roadside. Could that be one that was blown off a trailer? They are very small seeds...
