Our Local Square

Our local square, which hosts the Wed food market, has been transformed into a three day arts fair and family fiesta space to celebrate mother's day tomorrow. It was gloaming when we walked up this evening to see what was going on and all the stalls were starting to pack up. It was still bustling though with Brasilian music playing and families out 'paseando', people playing chess and dominoes at the tables or just enjoying a chat and drink with friends....a nice atmosphere. Rest of the day was spent making lists of things we need to have in place before we leave on Tuesday and meeting people who are going to keep an eye on things when we're not here. Feels strange to think we'll be leaving this Rio life behind soon.
