Cafe Colombo

An early start this morning as we had a wedding to watch and so our alarm was set for 5am. Luckily we just had to plump up our pillows and reach for the remote control. After the excitement of that and a bit more sleep, we headed into the centre of Rio as we had a bit of business stuff to do. It's easy to think Rio's only Copacabana and Ipanema and forget that just 5 easy metro stops away there's a big bustling city. We popped into my old school here to say hello and then round the back of the school to this beautiful grand cafe, Cafe Colombo, which has been in business for almost 100 years. Enjoyed a liquid refreshment there, but alas no wifi, so now in less salubrious surroundings a couple of streets away and about to click 'post'.
