Friday: The Big Day

I've given in - I confess that, having failed to get terribly excited about today, I did have a little dab at the eye with a hanky this morning as I watched the Royal Wedding.

We have, for too long now, given in to political correctness and been afraid to fly flags, or show too much patriotism, for fear of causing offence.  It is lovely to see so much red, white and blue around and to see flags in windows, flying off roofs etc.  Today it is OK, and I think that's good!

I'll get off my soapbox now and go and make the batter for the Yorkshire Puddings we are having later (not on their own, I hasten to add, there will be other food too).
