Swallow

Today's the day ................. for a high wire act

I saw my first swallow of the year a couple of days ago in exactly the same spot as this one. So I'm assuming rightly or wrongly, that it's the same one!

It is such a joy to see these birds arrive here and to know that they have safely made it all those hundreds of miles from their winter holidays in Africa. It was completely on its own though - so maybe it took a bit of a shortcut to get here before all its mates?!

A word of warning though - inspite of all this lovely weather we have been having, don't be fooled - one swallow doesn't make a summer .................
