Fresh Young Talent
I started my new timetable today, which means that I am in the same school morning and afternoon for 4 days a week with only one split day...hurray!
It makes so much sense to part of each school a whole day at a time.
We had our photography club meeting just after school today and the turnout was excellent.
The kids submitted their portraits that they had taken over the Easter Holidays.
I was blown away by the standard of work they are producing. They had clearly made a big effort to take into consideration all the pointers given to them from our last meeting.
Today we had them downloading their photos from their cameras, and practicing a bit of processing. We concentrated on the basics of brightness, contrast and crop, but some of the kids went further and looked at colour saturation and B & W too.
We've printed their portraits and will mount them before displaying their work for the rest of the school to admire. It will also be an opportunity for the kids to give feedback to each other about their photos.
Tonight I took some shots of trees in blossom and can't believe I took over 100 shots but found it difficult to find 1 that I was satisfied with.
Clearly something wrong with that ratio and the photo I finally settled for was really what I had in mind.
I bet the kids didn't take as many shots and they produced some amazing portraits.
