Through Jo's Lens

Chester Zoo

Have you ever been to Chester Zoo? There's a monkey and a kangeroo...

Naturally, it rained and animals from the Far East don't particularly like rain so sometimes it was like playing hide and seek!

Good things about today: fairly hassle free drive to the zoo....easy parking....no queueing....lots to see: elephants, tortoises, giraffes, lions, bat house (cool), etc (not insulting anyones intelligence here, I'm sure you realise what kind of animals are kept in zoos!)....only a touch of bickering between the boys but Jed does have an annoying habit of walking directly in front of people!

Bad things about today: trying to get the kids out of the zoo without spending a years earnings in the gift shop; peak time driving on the M60; hazard lights flashing on the car when we returned to the car park. No, not a robbery by some Scouser(!) but one of the kids must've caught the hazard lights button on their exit from the car. Could only mean one thing and it did: flat battery!! I have to say the AA were phenomenal...there in less than 10 minutes but my car battery has had its day so had to go and buy one as soon as we got near home. The guys in the car parts shop were pretty great too and had it fitted in minutes. The best of British service today.

As for photographing animals in captivity...not that easy really. My best photos were probably this and a steamy view of a butterfly (it was a tropical temp butterfly house which made the lens steam up!)
