5:40pm. The bags are packed. The lawns have been trimmed. Next comes dinner and a few hours sleep with the alarm set for 2:00am. Then off to Venice. This is a trip we promised ourselved ages ago and at last the day has arrived.

We are supposed to have wi-fi access at the hotel but my record with such promises is not great, so all I can say is that I'll stay in touch as best I can while away. Back again on Monday, so see you all then.
