Red Eye

I love Dario Argento movies. They're amazing. I love how there are extreme close-ups of eyes especially in Deep Red and Tenebrae. There seems to be a bizarre metaphorical relationship between the viewer and the subject matter. The camera moves with such human like behaviour, almost predatorial. I feel the same way for HAL in 2001: A Space Odyssey (which was the first dvd I bought with my own money, not that that means anything), its eye observing the spaceship with godlike authority. I also loved Peeping Tom by Michael Powell and its use of the camera as an eye. Great films.
