jurassic park

Today we took our friends and their two girls to a huge dinosaur park near Bautzen.

Back in the early 80s there was this guy who started building life-size statues statues of dinosaurs in his garden. People started noticing them and wondered what he was doing. Soon he had so many that his garden became to small so he asked the city for more land. As he had become quite famous already, the city granted his wish and gave him a bigger property for his statues. Soon he opened his park to the public. Today it is a huge park in the middle of a forest with about 600 dinosaur statues as well as playgrounds and all sorts of other fun activities for children. It was pretty interesting to see although I have to admit that it is more fun for kids than for adults who are mostly waiting or helping their kids climb those statues while also being responsible for taking zillions of photos of their children with the Tyrannosaurus Rex or Triceraptos :)

After being out and about for the entire day three days in a row, R and me dropped dead into bed shortly after we got home and feel asleep immediately.
