These litter the countryside, being some of the hardest hit by the crash. A small time builder buys a plot of land, hoping to cash in on the boom. The bank gladly (and recklessly) supplied the loan which was to be repaid when the house was sold.

Bang, everything crashes and these solitary developments remain incomplete, the builder bust and the bank wanting their money back.
