Got loads of work done, bitty stuff but stuff none the less.

A beautiful day. Bought a second hand car to replace my dad's old Punto which we have had for about 3 years now. I will be saddened to see it go as it was my last link with both my parents who died almost two years ago. However! nothing is simple. When I transferred my dads car into my name, the DVLA made me take it for a VIN no test, then I had to send them some form, yet no log book ever appeared! Today I phoned to ask why they hadnt sent the log book. I wish I hadnt! "Hello thank you for calling the DVLA bla bla please choose option 1, 2, 3, , 5 for Gods sake! I pressed 1, got another bloody recorded voiceless wonder pressed 1 again! another flaming voice, pressed 1 again and finally got some overly cheery chappy. He said " you never sent form V62" i said "oh yes I did and I had it Recorded Delivery" "well we dont have it so you will have to fill it in AGAIN" and we will send you the log book (free of charge) he added. Then because I wanted to take the aged Punto off the road, I had to fill in form V890, fine then because I wanted to retain the number yes you guessed it "fill in form V317. AAARRRRGGHHHH I was losing the will to live by this time.
Off I trotted to the Post office (via the chemist for some valium to calm me down) and guess what? The PO have forms V62 and V890 but V317 I have to get from my local vehicle tax office which for me happens to be in Glasgow or online AND I have to pay £105 for the pleasure of retaining my dads number.

Beuracracy I hate it, time the Govt got rid of these stupid pen pushing snivel servants (aploigies to all other snivel servants)

Finally took the doggies out a nice long walk. Drove right to the end of the ARdfern road and was rewarded with lovely views and nice doggy walking country so that at least calmed my furrowed brow.

Have a calm blip evening all
