Lead mines

I love old industrial buildings (which differ from blots on the landscape - see Friday's blip!).

I spent a lot of time in Cornwall as a boy (my mum's family is from there) and these buildings reminded me of the tin mines. Unlike the tin mines though, you can get right up to these and explore them. We went walking in the Dales around Pately Bridge today, and this was probably, photographically, the highlight of the day (though you can see the other photo's from the day here ).

To think that huge mines were constructed up in the hills a long way from anywhere - there's just something endearing about the sense of industry and this photo captures what's left.
