New Growth; Old House
The lovely S and I took her mother home from the hospital today. Just over four days of physiotherapy has eased the strain she suffered last Wednesday, and she is walking pretty well once more. It has made her a bit more unsteady, so we are hoping that they will arrange home physiotherapy to maintain her mobility.
And being at Snells Beach, we were able to check on the building progress at our beach house. Slightly, but only very slightly, tongue in cheek I think that this meets the challenge topic which is growth. The old house is growing a little in size, and a great deal in functionality.
This new addition replaces an old carport, and a weird conglomeration of a lean-to workshop, a store room, and a bedroom which had to be entered from outside. When the ground subsided due to the drought, the concrete base cracked and walls split slightly.
The large open space in the front wall is an entry into a covered porch with a side opening as well. Behind that porch is an ensuite for the new downstairs bedroom/yoga room. Balanced on the frame for the window in the entry area are evidence of two of my addictions; a coffee plunger and a pair of adidas shoes. This picture is evidence of a third.
I last posted a picture of the work almost two weeks ago. They were just beginning this bit. Links to the two previous posts are given there for those interested. Further progress will be shown, I am sure.
