Treasures
Exciting visit to a big antiques warehouse at Lancaster today. Not sure the rest of the family agreed it was such fun, but I am very happy with my new finds!
Another brilliant run up on Whitbarrow this evening...against the encroaching dark. This is such an amazing place to live. When I got the the top I had a stunning 360 degree view - the main Lakeland fells to the north printing miles of deep aubergine silhouettes against a yellow sky, the estuary to the south a streak of yellow against an aubergine sky - complete flipped opposites from either side of the cairn. The run back home through the woods was a bit eerie - owls hooting, leaves rustling, dogs down in the Howe yelping. I startled two young deer on the other side of the wall, not sure who got the biggest fright...there was just enough light left to see them leaping impressively high over wild garlic and glow-in-the-dark hawthorn blossom. I count my lucky stars every day that I get to live here.
