Obliging orange tip
A beautiful sunny spring day today.
Gym first, local shops, lunch and then a trip to one of the local BBOWT nature reserves. We spoke to one of the wardens on the way in - she was worried that the bluebells would all be over by the planned bluebell walk at the beginning of May. They were certainly on their way today and there were carpets of bluebells and wood anemones under the trees. There were also lots of early purple orchids around.
The site is a good spot for butterflies and we came across this obliging orange tip that seemed happy to be photographed. We did wonder if it was newly emerged and still pumping up its wings as it seemed very still - it was alive! Every Lady's smock flower seemed to have an orange tip around it.
We've had a great day but the ironing remains in a huge heap - we may just go to work creased tomorrow!
