Wash and brush up

This heron was looking very bedraggled when I first saw him. He was on a very small island on a tiny pond close to a shopping centre surrounded by people, dogs and squabbling ducks. As I stood watching, he started to sort out his feathers and looked a bit more presentable after a few minutes - wonder if he'd had a rough night?
