free fall

it about blew my mind... geese in trees... have you ever? i mean, i know they fly and all... but landing in trees - and then just sitting up there? who knew?

and then... suddenly... the free fall happened. gently - with wings outstretched - down he came to the ground - right in front of me - without a care. i managed to get off only two shots because, let's face it... a p&s just doesn't allow for quick repetition of shooting...boo. and although i liked the other, this one really demonstrated the ease of falling better, but it's not as crisp as i'd like it to be.

as for the other goose? once his partner took the plunge, well, he/she remained up there prancing around like a nervous nellie - even flew between the trees but couldn't quite fly to the ground... yet there was a lot of honking going on. what a trip...

speaking of - i leave at o'dark stupid tomorrow morning headed to chicago to spend a week helping my mom again. i'll be posting pics but no doubt short on commenting while i'm with her.
