Mom

My boyfriend lives by the water. Every year a pair of coots builds a nests in the water behind his back yard. Last year we were able to watch them raise a chick to adulthood. This year a couple of grebes have taken their place, building a nest of sticks, leaves and mud under the weeping willow by the waterside. I went to see them today and found the mother sitting on the nest patiently, sometimes adjusting some leaves.
