Sand Lodge

Sand Lodge at Leebitton catching the sun before it sets behind the hill.

Sand Lodge was and still is the estate house for the Sumburgh Estate which still owns a large chunk of the land in the South Mainland. In fact I think if I discover oil or gold in my land it reverts to the Estate - hence the reason I've never explored for any.

The Sand Lodge farm is behind it and behind it out of sight is the old copper mine. Quite a fertile area and the fields have been plouged while the sheep are grazing on the cliff tops on the far right. And of course there is Mousa in the background which is an RSPB reserve - hope to get some pictures of the Storm Petrels later in the summer.

First lambs of the year seen this evening.
