Sammy's Big Day Out
This was Sammy's first venture out into the big, wide world. He spent most of the day in the garden with Linda and me. He had to be confined to the garden, as he hasn't been 'snipped & chipped' yet, so we had to get him a harness and attach him with a 5 metre lead to a weighty garden ornament.
He managed to slip out of his harness just the once but, fortunately, didn't run off; he just wandered around a bit and came when called to have his harness refitted (just a tad tighter!). Phew!
It was interesting to see his hunting instincts, any bird that came into the garden caused him to immediately adopt the typical crouched hunting posture, with eyes firmly fixed on his prey. The bell on his collar gives the birds the advance warning required!
By the end of the day he had found his preferred spot to stretch out and let the world go by ~ on some bark chippings under an acer tree.
