Hot Dog.
I can not remember such a hot April 10th; and I am a bit of an expert, as it is my birthday.
We had a pretty eventful day. Started with Pancakes in a candlelit kitchen ( sounds deeply pretentious, but to comfort church missers) with great music from King's Cambridge.
Then off for some tennis. Bit of a mishap there. Tore a muscle in my calf. I was given very good firm advice to get it checked out, so I had a coupke of hours in A&E, where I fell asleep over my book.
They confirmed a tear, not a cramp, so i was on for a lot of tea and sympathy.
While I was drinking the tea, (with some birthday cake) I saw Barney being watered by my son by the veg patch. He was loving it. Standing in the blast of misty cooling water.
It was a perfect moment of light and pure enjoyment on the dog's part, and my son's I guess.
It was a nuisance to have the leg incident, as I am also missing a trip to London tomorrow, with two exhibitions, including the Watercolour one, and a look round my favourite art shop. But at least it was not a ligament, so that's OK. And I can not grumble after a day like this, England at it's best. What a Sunday.
