Starry Eyed Surprise

Junk Food Bella

I had a busy day today doing all things domesticated and even managing to scarify the lawn. Well ,this will probably be the only bit of sunshine we'll see this Spring Holiday.

I was absolutely exhausted when I came indoors at 5pm so had a wee snooze on the sofa whilst Mr G watch yet another repeat of Top Gear.

Lucky for me, there was no dinner to prepare as we had a takeaway at Gill's house. It was meant to be a Chinese, but both George's and the Golden Wok were closed. (I was secretly glad as I'm not a big fan of Chinese food)

We ended up getting our takeaway from The Ganges one of the local Indian restaurants.

Everyone else in Carnoustie seemed to be having a similar dilemma tonight and the waiting time to get our food went on forever.

It was worth it though, as the food was delish. We ordered a small portion of chips with our meal, so that Gill's parrot Bella could join us by eating a few chips.

Bella is a junk food parrot and likes nothing more than a treat of crisps, sweeties, bacon and her favourite, chips.

She is given normal healthy Parrot food, but she likes her treats too.

She has quite some repertoire, does our Bella. One of her favourite games to play is to say "Gill, Gill, Gill, Gill?" and this keeps going until Gill answers her by saying "What?"

To which Bella replies "Bugger!"

Bella's a great talker and some of her phrases include, Bye, Night, night, Chippy Chips, It's Ok, and Merry Christmas plus many more.

Bella is two years old and I believe African Grey Parrots can live up to 60 years old. So no doubt she manage to eat her way through many more Chippy chips and crisps and the like and her vocabulary will extend even further.
